Wood frogs’ No. 1 option: Hold in pee all winter to survive

Talk about holding it. Wood frogs don't urinate all winter. Recycling urea into useful nitrogen keeps the small frogs alive as they hibernate and freeze, inside and out, scientists have found. They also found the special microbes in the frogs' guts that recycle the urea.
